Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily living assistance to residents, preserving dignity and comfort
• Assist with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff to ensure safety
• Support safe transfers and mobility assistance while following proper body mechanics
• Document care activities accurately and communicate with the care team for seamless handoffs
• Create warm, engaging interactions that promote emotional wellbeing and a sense of home

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Accurate charting and clear communication with interdisciplinary team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience, and emotional resilience in a caregiving role
