Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to elderly residents, supporting activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility while preserving dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Support restorative and mobility programs to help residents maintain independence
• Document resident care and observations clearly in the patient record
• Communicate proactively with families and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Active ability to work in Maryland (state authorization/registration as required)
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain promptly
• Background check and health screening clearance as required by facility
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or equivalent credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Safe patient transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Compassionate communication with residents and families
