Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to elderly residents with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention efforts during daily routines
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and reassuring environment for residents
• Communicate warmly with residents and families to build trust and comfort

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required
• Previous experience working with the geriatric population preferred
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred if available
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet licensing/credentialing requirements
• Strong communication skills and a calm, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Team player who communicates clearly with nurses and ancillary staff
• Compassion, patience, and a gentle bedside manner for older adults
