Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document care and observations accurately in the resident record
• Support safe and dignified mealtimes and assist with feeding when needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident comfort and independence

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or completion upon hire if required by facility
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Strong communication skills and a heart for elder care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident safety, infection control, and basic elder care practices
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Good documentation and charting abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and the care team
• Ability to follow care plans and verbal/written instructions accurately
