Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Monitor and document vital signs and resident behavior changes accurately
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and families about resident needs
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents
• Observe infection-control procedures and follow facility policies consistently

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• Current state-required immunizations and TB screening as per facility policy
• Willingness to pass background checks and required facility onboarding
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for working with older adults
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL support, mobility assistance
• Good observation and documentation skills
• Infection control best practices and safe patient handling
• Teamwork, clear communication, and resident-centered care approach
