Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to older adults to maintain dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility support
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to the clinical team promptly
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure proper nutrition and hydration
- Document care accurately and maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
- Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and quality of life
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Active placement on the state nursing assistant registry as applicable
- Ability to work the listed day shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Clear background check and TB screening per facility requirements
- Reliable, compassionate approach with strong patient-focused ethics
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; additional healthcare-related coursework a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
- Safe patient handling and mobility assistance techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and verbal/written instructions
- Teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
