Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
• Provide safe mobility assistance and transfers to reduce fall risk
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Follow individualized care plans and document resident responses accurately
• Support mealtime needs, ensure hydration and proper nutrition
• Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and quality of life
• Communicate clearly with team members and families to coordinate excellent care
• Participate in infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

• Active GNA or equivalent state certification (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings is a plus
• Current immunizations per facility policy and ability to pass background/health screenings
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting older adults with ADLs and mobility
• Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to resident needs
