Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
- Provide safe mobility assistance and transfers to reduce fall risk
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
- Follow individualized care plans and document resident responses accurately
- Support mealtime needs, ensure hydration and proper nutrition
- Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and quality of life
- Communicate clearly with team members and families to coordinate excellent care
- Participate in infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
Qualifications
- Active GNA or equivalent state certification (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings is a plus
- Current immunizations per facility policy and ability to pass background/health screenings
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting older adults with ADLs and mobility
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to resident needs
