Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident observations accurately
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive assistance
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in resident charts and communicate changes
- Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver person-centered care
- Follow infection control, safety protocols and facility policies at all times
Qualifications
- Current certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) credential required
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable supporting older adults with personal care and mobility needs
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care and dignity-centered approach
- Basic clinical skills including vital signs and safe transfer techniques
- Familiarity with documentation best practices and electronic charting
- Excellent interpersonal skills with residents, families and staff
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
