Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (specific days vary; schedule may include nights and weekends)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting activities of daily living with dignity
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident conditions accurately and promptly
- Assist nursing staff with care plans and document changes in resident status
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care
- Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures, using proper body mechanics
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, resident-centered environment
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (required)
- Experience or strong interest in geriatric care and working with older adults
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work night shifts with a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
- Familiarity with dementia-related behaviors and gentle de-escalation techniques
- Strong communication and documentation habits
- Team-oriented with good time management and prioritization skills
