Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility while preserving dignity and independence
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records
• Support a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the care team
• Collaborate with nurses and therapists to follow care plans and improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and those with complex needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe transfer techniques
• Basic infection control and safety practices
• Accurate documentation and time-management skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from nursing staff
