Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents including assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote comfort and mobility
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs and preferences are respected
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create a welcoming, person-centered environment

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification as required by the facility
• Valid CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in caring for older adults
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of elder care practices and safety-first resident handling
• Competence with activities of daily living (ADLs) support and personal care
• Basic clinical observation skills and ability to report changes effectively
• Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
• Empathy, patience, and clear communication with residents and families
