Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Monitor resident status and report changes promptly to the nursing team to support excellent clinical outcomes
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment to protect residents and yourself
• Provide compassionate companionship and meaningful engagement to enhance resident quality of life
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident record to ensure continuity and clear communication
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and required health screenings (e.g., TB, immunizations)
• Comfortable working on a fast-paced unit and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude when working with interdisciplinary teams
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing person-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA or nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Compassionate bedside manner and strong resident advocacy
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, assistance with ADLs, feeding and mobility support
• Familiarity with charting and documentation best practices
• Time management and prioritization in a busy care setting
• Ability to follow care plans and safety protocols consistently
• Teamwork and clear communication with clinical staff and families
