Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, dignified personal care to elderly residents, focusing on comfort and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Support meal assistance and ensure proper hydration, honoring dietary needs
• Keep clear, timely documentation in resident charts and communicate effectively with the care team
• Promote a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Engage residents with meaningful conversation and activities to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• GNA certification (or state-equivalent) required
• Current CPR/BLS preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
• Background check and ability to pass facility onboarding requirements
• Compassionate, patient-focused mindset with strong observational skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or state-recognized nursing assistant credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in personal care and basic nursing assistance for older adults
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and intake/output
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with caregivers and families
• Knowledge of infection control, safety practices, and resident rights
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes in resident status promptly
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
