Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on bedside care to residents and patients, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with respect and patience
• Monitor and report changes in condition — your observations help the care team act quickly
• Perform routine patient checks and document care accurately and promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care and clear communication

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (Class: CNA)
• Authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to obtain any required Maine state credentials
• Comfort working overnight shifts and providing hands-on patient care
• Ability to pass facility-required background check and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or available through employer support

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven ability to assist with ADLs and basic patient hygiene
• Basic vital signs monitoring and documentation skills
• Knowledge of infection prevention and proper PPE use
• Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn EHR systems
• Compassionate bedside manner and solid teamwork skills
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during busy shifts
