Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team in a timely manner
- Support safe transfers and repositioning to promote comfort and prevent injury
- Assist with meal service and document intake and output accurately
- Maintain a clean, respectful environment and follow infection control best practices
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver personalized care plans
- Build rapport with residents and families, bringing dignity and kindness to every interaction
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Active state CNA license for Pennsylvania or ability to obtain quickly
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar healthcare setting preferred
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed approved CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care skills including ADLs and mobility assistance
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safe patient handling
- Comfortable with charting and following care plans
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care environment
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
- Teamwork and collaboration with nursing staff and allied health professionals
