Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, dignified personal care to geriatric residents to enhance their daily quality of life
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting and grooming with respect and patience
• Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the nursing team
• Help maintain clean, comfortable resident environments and support meal/feeding needs as appropriate
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to contribute to individualized care plans and a positive resident experience

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification (required)
• Active or eligible for GNA registration in Maryland
• Demonstrated compassion and experience working with older adults
• Ability to follow care plans, document observations accurately and communicate clearly with team members
• Basic physical ability to assist with transfers and perform resident care duties

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong resident-focused caregiving skills and a gentle bedside manner
• Good verbal communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with basic infection control and safety practices
• Ability to follow direction from licensed nursing staff and document care reliably
• Dependability, professionalism and a calm approach in a busy care setting
