Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, helping with daily living tasks
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support with dignity
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support meal assistance including feeding and documenting intake
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans and facility procedures
• Work collaboratively with the care team to create a safe, welcoming environment

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
• Valid state CNA license or ability to obtain licensure in Maine
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and working in a team environment
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for resident and team interactions
• Knowledge of infection control and basic patient safety practices
• Ability to follow care plans, document observations, and escalate concerns
• Compassionate approach to working with older adults and those with complex needs
• Time management skills to balance care tasks during a busy shift
