Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care for residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
• Take and document vital signs and observe changes in condition
• Assist nursing staff with treatments and reporting clinical changes promptly
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for residents
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the care team

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — must be valid in Maine or eligible to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background and health screenings, including immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA program or equivalent training
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in personal care, bathing, grooming and assistance with ADLs
• Comfortable with resident transfers, mobility assistance and safe lifting techniques
• Basic clinical skills including vital signs and documentation
• Knowledge of infection control practices and resident safety standards
• Teamwork, time management and clear communication with interdisciplinary teams
