Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers and mobility support with safety-first techniques
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident conditions, reporting changes to the clinical team
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and communicate with nursing staff
- Support a positive dining and social experience during meal times and activities
- Maintain infection control standards and follow facility policies to keep residents safe
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to promote resident well-being
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) credential (NH required; VT acceptable as noted)
- Completion of an approved LNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
- Comfortable with resident lifting/transfer techniques and working as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Successful completion of a state-approved LNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care and activities of daily living
- Proficient in taking and recording vital signs
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Ability to observe, report and escalate changes in resident condition
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families and the care team
