Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients on overnight shifts
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor patient status, assess changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Document patient care thoroughly in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Mexico (compact license accepted if applicable)
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Previous LPN/RN experience in rehabilitation, acute care, or related setting preferred
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass facility-required health screenings
- Comfortable working overnight 12+ hour shifts and providing consistent patient care
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Knowledge of safety protocols, infection control, and patient mobility/transfer techniques
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-education skills
