Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
- Take and document vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Provide attentive, person-centered care that promotes comfort and quality of life
- Document care and observations clearly in the patient record to support team communication
- Collaborate with nurses and the care team to meet individualized care plans
- Observe and report changes in resident condition promptly, advocating for their needs
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification
- Eligible to work in NH/VT or hold the appropriate state LNA credential
- Prior experience as a nursing assistant is preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background and health screenings per facility policy
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care
- Skilled in taking vital signs and documenting observations
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Infection control practices and proper PPE use
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during a busy shift
