Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight hours
• Assess, monitor and document patient status and vital signs accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and per protocol
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans
• Respond promptly to patient needs and clinical changes during the night
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record
• Uphold infection control standards and facility policies
• Support patient and family education with empathy and clarity

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license (state of Delaware licensure or compact privileges preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS/other certifications a plus
• Relevant clinical experience in long-term care or acute care preferred
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN nursing program (program type depends on title)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Patient assessment and monitoring overnight trends
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
• Basic wound care and infection prevention techniques
• Time management, prioritization, and critical thinking during night shifts
• Comfort collaborating with nurses, CNAs and interdisciplinary staff
