Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to assigned patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Monitor patient status, report changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the chart
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient education to support recovery
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Support continuity of care during shift handoffs and transitions

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license for New Mexico (must be valid prior to start)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (ACLS or PALS if required by unit)
• Clinical competency in med administration, assessment, and documentation
• Ability to work overnight shifts with a professional, patient-centered attitude
• Immunizations and TB screen per facility policy (documentation required)
• Reliable, team-oriented, with strong communication and time-management skills

Education

• LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (diploma/certificate)
• RN: Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of nursing fundamentals, medication safety, and patient assessment
• Comfortable using electronic health records and charting accurately
• Skilled in IV/medication administration and basic wound care
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization under busy overnight conditions
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety best practices
