Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on occupational therapy assistance under the direction of a supervising OT to help patients regain independence
- Implement and follow individualized treatment plans focused on functional goals
- Monitor and document patient progress clearly and timely to support care decisions
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and home programs to promote long-term success
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment
- Participate in weekend rotation as scheduled to support continuity of care
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field (see Education)
- Active state COTA license or eligibility to obtain licensure in New Hampshire
- Comfortable working in a rehabilitation setting and supporting adult patient populations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment, and functional interventions
- Proven documentation and charting skills
- Ability to follow treatment plans and adapt interventions safely
- Good clinical judgment and patient handling skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude
