Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing needs using evidence-based tools
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote functional communication and safe swallowing
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and families to coordinate care and track progress
• Document timely, accurate clinical notes and measurable goals in the medical record
• Provide education and training to family members and caregivers to support carryover of skills
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Current California license to practice Speech-Language Pathology (or eligibility to obtain)
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification preferred or the ability to obtain
• Experience working with pediatric and/or adult rehab populations is a plus
• Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and treatment planning skills
• Clear communicative skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of assessment tools and standardized testing for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Skilled in therapeutic techniques for articulation, language therapy, voice, and dysphagia management
• Proficient documentation and goal-writing for skilled therapy
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and educate caregivers effectively
• Familiarity with infection control, safety practices, and regulatory compliance
