Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence
• Design and implement therapeutic activities focused on ADLs, mobility, and functional goals
• Monitor patient progress, adjust interventions, and document outcomes in the medical record
• Collaborate closely with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and physicians to ensure coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on techniques, adaptive equipment, and home programs for lasting results
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning for safe transitions
• Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, patient-centered culture

Qualifications

• Current California Occupational Therapist license (required)
• OTR or equivalent credential preferred
• Experience or interest in inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing settings is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to manage a caseload
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate across disciplines
• Availability to work the listed day shift schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy required; OTD or advanced degree a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in occupational therapy assessment and treatment planning for adult rehab
• Proficient in ADL training, activity analysis, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Knowledge of orthotics, splinting, and therapeutic modalities commonly used in rehab
• Competent documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Strong patient and family education skills with a focus on functional outcomes
• Effective time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced setting
