Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, client-centered occupational therapy services under the direction of an OT
• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions to improve patients’ daily living and work skills
• Perform patient assessments and document progress clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on strategies and adaptive equipment to maximize independence
• Maintain accurate, compliance-ready clinical records and communicate effectively with staff
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) — required
• Active North Carolina OTA license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working a daytime, Monday–Friday schedule (35 hours/week)
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in rehabilitation, outpatient, or related settings preferred

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (required)
• Graduation from an accredited OTA program and successful completion of certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activity analysis and adaptive techniques for ADLs (activities of daily living)
• Knowledgeable in therapeutic modalities and assistive devices
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with clinical charting
• Ability to assess functional status and measure progress toward goals
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and family education
• Teamwork and collaboration with PTs, OTs, nursing, and support staff
