Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day) with weekend rotation
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $26 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality hands-on skilled care under the direction of the Physical Therapist
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional activities to maximize independence
- Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and communicate changes to the PT and care team
- Help develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on safe mobility and improved function
- Educate patients and families on home programs, fall prevention, and safe transfer techniques
- Collaborate with nursing and other disciplines to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Support a positive, restorative environment that promotes patient dignity and recovery
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Maine or eligible for state licensure
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (associate degree or diploma)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience in SNF, LTC, or outpatient settings preferred; weekend rotation experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering person-centered rehabilitation
Education
- Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of therapeutic exercise, modalities, transfers and gait training
- Ability to safely assist with patient mobility and use of assistive devices
- Skilled documentation and outcome measurement to demonstrate patient progress
- Familiarity with SNF/LTC regulations and rehab best practices
- Strong observational skills to identify changes in patient status and escalate appropriately
- Comfort working in both one-on-one and group therapy environments
