Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions that improve patients’ daily functioning and independence
• Assess patient abilities, set meaningful goals, and implement individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and caregivers to coordinate holistic care
• Document patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations accurately and on time
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home strategies
• Maintain clinical standards, safety protocols, and facility policies to ensure quality care

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or P-OTA/OTA credential
• Current or eligible for state licensure to practice as an OTA in Maine
• Ability to work the posted hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with weekend rotation
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working in a rehabilitation/permanent placement setting

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
• Current COTA or P-OTA certification as applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational occupational therapy assessment and intervention techniques
• Hands-on skill with ADL training and adaptive equipment
• Ability to create and follow individualized treatment plans
• Proficient documentation and clinical charting skills
• Effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary team
