Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions that improve patients’ daily functioning and independence
- Assess patient abilities, set meaningful goals, and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and caregivers to coordinate holistic care
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations accurately and on time
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home strategies
- Maintain clinical standards, safety protocols, and facility policies to ensure quality care
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or P-OTA/OTA credential
- Current or eligible for state licensure to practice as an OTA in Maine
- Ability to work the posted hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with weekend rotation
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working in a rehabilitation/permanent placement setting
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
- Current COTA or P-OTA certification as applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational occupational therapy assessment and intervention techniques
- Hands-on skill with ADL training and adaptive equipment
- Ability to create and follow individualized treatment plans
- Proficient documentation and clinical charting skills
- Effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary team
