Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled respiratory care and therapies to patients in accordance with established protocols
• Assess patients’ respiratory status and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
• Operate and monitor ventilators and other respiratory equipment, adjusting settings as needed
• Deliver patient and family education on treatments, equipment use and home care plans
• Document interventions, patient responses and changes in condition accurately and timely
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and allied health staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
• Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications encouraged
• Demonstrated skill in respiratory assessment and therapeutic interventions
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Associate degree or certificate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ventilators, oxygen therapy and airway management
• Knowledge of respiratory disease processes and treatment modalities
• Ability to perform patient assessments and interpret respiratory data
• Proficiency in documentation and adherence to clinical protocols
• Effective interpersonal skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
