Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients using evidence-based assessments to identify occupational performance barriers
• Develop individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence in daily activities
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve strength, coordination, cognition, and functional skills
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs and physicians to coordinate comprehensive care
• Document patient progress clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive techniques to support long-term outcomes
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the facility

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapist license in Maryland or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable documenting in electronic health records and communicating with an interdisciplinary team
• Professional, compassionate approach with strong patient-centered care skills

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or entry-level OTD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and intervention planning
• Knowledge of rehab techniques, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications
• Strong clinical reasoning and outcome-focused treatment planning
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
