Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care under the direction of licensed Physical Therapists
• Implement therapeutic exercises and assist patients with mobility, transfers, and functional activities
• Monitor, measure, and document patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, and caregivers to develop and follow individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention
• Maintain a safe, organized treatment area and ensure equipment is clean and functional
• Contribute to team meetings and quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a PTA in North Carolina
• BLS/CPR certification required or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working in an outpatient/rehabilitation setting
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Preferred: 1+ years of PTA experience in outpatient or post-acute rehab (but enthusiastic newer grads are welcome to apply)

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled with therapeutic exercise planning and progression
• Knowledge of gait training, transfers, and mobility assistance
• Familiarity with modalities and assistive devices
• Accurate documentation practices and basic EMR familiarity
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers in clear, supportive language
• Teamwork mindset and good clinical judgment
