Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and interventions tailored to each patient’s goals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote independence and function
• Document patient progress clearly and timely, using facility charting standards
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on strategies, adaptive equipment and home programs
• Lead therapeutic activities that improve daily living skills and participation
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current Michigan occupational therapy license or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Degree in occupational therapy (Bachelor’s/Master’s/OTD) from an accredited program
• Recent experience in adult rehabilitation, skilled nursing or outpatient therapy preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (BS/MOT/OTD) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in OT evaluation and intervention techniques for functional recovery
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting and ADL training
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Solid documentation practices and familiarity with regulatory requirements
