Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients using evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and clinical reasoning
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional outcomes and meaningful activities
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve independence with ADLs and community participation
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to coordinate comprehensive care
• Document progress accurately and timely in the patient record to support continuity of care
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies and adaptive equipment to promote safety and independence
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active or eligible Occupational Therapy license for the state of Virginia (preferred)
• Clinical experience in occupational therapy; experience in post-acute or rehabilitation settings is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills
• Comfort working as part of an interdisciplinary team and adapting to patient needs

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments and activity analysis
• Knowledge of ADL training, splinting principles, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Proficient documentation skills and ability to produce timely, clear clinical notes
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary care team
• Familiarity with goal-setting and discharge planning to support patient transitions
