Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessment using the nursing process to identify needs and priorities
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, then evaluate outcomes for continuous improvement
• Provide direct perioperative and medical/surgical nursing care for pediatric and adult patients
• Coordinate discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions from admission to home or next level of care
• Serve as a clinical leader on the unit, offering guidance and precepting for staff
• Delegate and supervise LPNs, CNAs, and support staff while maintaining accountability
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including providers, charge nurses, and directors to deliver excellent care
• Adhere to established policies and procedures while supporting a safe and efficient care environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing (state of practice)
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing with comfort providing care across pediatric and adult populations
• Familiarity with perioperative care (pre- and post-operative) and ambulatory services
• Demonstrated clinical leadership, precepting, delegation, and supervisory experience
• Comfort working in 5:1 patient-to-staff ratio environments
• Strong patient and family communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to follow policies and procedures with minimal supervision
• Available for a rapid response, short-term travel assignment

Education

• Active RN license required (degree not specified in the posting)

• Proficient in patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Skilled in discharge planning and transitions of care
• Clinical leadership and the ability to precept and mentor staff
• Effective delegation and supervision of clinical and support team members
