Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and report changes in condition such as vital signs or behavior to nursing staff
- Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures during transfers and ambulation
- Document care provided accurately and timely in resident records
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- GNA certification (or equivalent state-approved nursing assistant certification) preferred
- Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric settings is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to elders
- Reliable transportation and ability to work night shifts
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved GNA or nursing assistant program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused care
- Basic clinical skills such as taking vital signs and observing for changes
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Infection control and hygiene best practices
- Good documentation and time-management skills
- Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary care team
