Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic exams in the OR, ED, inpatient units and on portable patients with accuracy and compassion
- Operate and maintain radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment (GE, Philips, CareStream) safely and efficiently
- Evaluate images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic excellence
- Position patients correctly and follow trauma imaging protocols to deliver timely care
- Document procedures and patient information in EPIC and manage images in Sectra
- Float between assigned departments as needed to support patient flow and team needs
- Precept and work with students from Grady, conducting competency check-offs and mentoring the next generation
Qualifications
- Current ARRT (Radiography) certification required
- BLS certification required
- Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT-approved radiography program required
- Minimum 1 year experience at a Level 1 trauma center OR 2-3 years at a large-bed Level 2 trauma facility (explicit requirement)
- OR experience and strong skills in general X-Ray, portable X-ray and trauma imaging
- Willingness to learn pediatric and neonatal imaging
- Comfort with floating between departments and working in fast-paced environments
Education
- Graduated from a JRCERT/ARRT-approved radiography program
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiography and fluoroscopy techniques
- Image quality evaluation and troubleshooting
- Patient positioning and trauma imaging protocols
- Portable imaging best practices
- Experience with EMR: EPIC and PACS: Sectra
- Familiarity operating GE, Philips and CareStream equipment
- Ability to precept students and perform competency check-offs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in acute care settings
