Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic exams in the OR, ED, inpatient units and on portable patients with accuracy and compassion
• Operate and maintain radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment (GE, Philips, CareStream) safely and efficiently
• Evaluate images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic excellence
• Position patients correctly and follow trauma imaging protocols to deliver timely care
• Document procedures and patient information in EPIC and manage images in Sectra
• Float between assigned departments as needed to support patient flow and team needs
• Precept and work with students from Grady, conducting competency check-offs and mentoring the next generation

Qualifications

• Current ARRT (Radiography) certification required
• BLS certification required
• Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT-approved radiography program required
• Minimum 1 year experience at a Level 1 trauma center OR 2-3 years at a large-bed Level 2 trauma facility (explicit requirement)
• OR experience and strong skills in general X-Ray, portable X-ray and trauma imaging
• Willingness to learn pediatric and neonatal imaging
• Comfort with floating between departments and working in fast-paced environments

Education

• Graduated from a JRCERT/ARRT-approved radiography program

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiography and fluoroscopy techniques
• Image quality evaluation and troubleshooting
• Patient positioning and trauma imaging protocols
• Portable imaging best practices
• Experience with EMR: EPIC and PACS: Sectra
• Familiarity operating GE, Philips and CareStream equipment
• Ability to precept students and perform competency check-offs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in acute care settings
