Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients on a 30-bed unit
- Assess patient condition, identify changes, and implement appropriate interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic patient care
- Document patient care, assessments, and interventions clearly in the electronic medical record
- Respond effectively to trauma situations drawing on Level 1 trauma experience when needed
- Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state-specific requirements to be met prior to start)
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma center or a mid-to-large hospital is required
- Travel nursing experience preferred; punctuality and a positive attitude are must-haves
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong Med/Surg clinical skills and patient assessment abilities
- Trauma triage and bedside care experience for acute situations
- Proficient medication administration and IV care skills
- Skilled in documentation and use of electronic medical records
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
- Adaptability to unit workflows and patient ratio demands (5-6:1)
