Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as-needed), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; days vary and are not specified in posting (evening shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
Perform routine vital sign checks and report changes to nursing staff
Support mealtime assistance and monitor dietary intake as needed
Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection-control standards
Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the care team

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent
Previous experience working with older adults preferred but new grads with training welcome
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner
Reliable transportation and ability to work assigned per diem shifts

Education

High school diploma/GED and completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
Good documentation skills and attention to detail
Teamwork-oriented with a positive, resident-first attitude
Time management for efficient, compassionate care during shifts
