Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiography and CT examinations to produce high-quality images for clinical interpretation
- Prepare and position patients for procedures with compassion, clear instructions, and attention to comfort
- Select and operate CT and radiographic equipment, optimizing protocols to minimize exposure and maximize image quality
- Administer contrast media and assist licensed practitioners during interventional and fluoroscopic procedures as permitted
- Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure accurate identification and archival of digital records
- Practice strict infection control and aseptic technique to protect patients and staff
- Initiate basic life support when necessary and maintain vigilance for patient safety throughout procedures
- Participate in quality assessment, equipment maintenance reporting, and departmental improvement initiatives
- Provide patient education and emotional support, and contribute to clinical instruction of students or colleagues
Qualifications
- Completion of a formal accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and CT, or equivalent required by Oregon
- Licensed in the State of Oregon as a Radiologic Technologist / CT Technologist
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture and administer contrast media as permitted by state/institutional policy
- Bilingual (English–Spanish) preferred — ability to work with a culturally diverse population is a plus
Education
- Completion of a formal accredited Radiologic Technology program (certificate or degree)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of CT and radiographic technique, protocol selection, and image evaluation
- Proficient in patient positioning, venipuncture, and contrast media administration
- Familiarity with fluoroscopy, interventional radiography, and related equipment operation
- Infection control, aseptic technique, and universal precautions
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with quality control and inventory tasks
- Excellent patient care, communication, and documentation skills
