Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, including bathing, feeding, and hygiene assistance
- Assist residents with mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support daily living activities while promoting dignity and independence
- Maintain accurate documentation of care delivered and patient responses
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to ensure high-quality care
- Help create a comfortable, clean, and safe environment for patients
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in the state of North Carolina (required)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred minimum)
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
- Comfortable working with older adults and medically complex patients
- Reliable, team-oriented, with strong communication and observational skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of direct patient care and basic nursing tasks
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Vital signs measurement and reporting
- Infection control and proper PPE use
- Basic charting and documentation practices
- Compassionate, patient-centered communication
