Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and behavior changes accurately
- Support safe mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent injury
- Communicate changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and families
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- Ability to meet state registry requirements and pass background checks
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
- Basic charting skills and attention to detail
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Prior experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident hygiene needs
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Teamwork, reliability, and time management
