Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote independence and prevent falls
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff and leadership
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
• Support meal assistance and feeding as needed, honoring dietary needs and preferences
• Communicate kindly and professionally with residents, families, and the care team
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for all residents

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (New York state) required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Comfortable working in long-term care or skilled nursing settings; prior resident care experience a plus
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Available for per-diem/open scheduling

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and personal care
• Knowledge of infection control and safety best practices
• Familiarity with safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Basic documentation skills and comfort learning EMR/charting systems
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
