Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes promptly to the care team
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive nutrition and hydration support
• Maintain clear, timely documentation so the team stays informed and residents receive seamless care
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered communication
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean, secure environment

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or ability to obtain) — Maine certification preferred
• BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfort working 12-hour day shifts and supporting a busy skilled nursing environment
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient hygiene and ADL assistance with dignity and respect
• Taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Basic infection control practices and PPE usage
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Charting and concise clinical communication
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care setting
