Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document per facility policy
- Assess patient conditions, report changes promptly, and participate in care planning
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence
- Maintain clear, timely charting and follow all regulatory and facility documentation standards
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Registered Nurse (RN) license — active or eligible in Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or must obtain upon hire
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; reliable and professional
- Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and able to provide hands-on resident care
- Previous experience in long-term care or rehabilitation is a plus but caring attitude and a willingness to learn matter most
Education
- Completion of an accredited LPN program or RN nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and basic nursing procedures
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with electronic health records and charting
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask safely, and work well under pressure
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective communication with residents and families
