Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and occupational needs to create individualized care plans
• Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to promote independence
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and other therapists to coordinate patient care
• Document patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on home strategies, adaptive equipment, and safety
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain competency through required testing

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Michigan (MI licensure required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Ability to work 1.0 FTE, daytime schedule with alternating weekends
• Willingness and ability to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Meeting required health screenings and immunizations as listed (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing, Fit Test, etc.)

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (e.g., MSOT or OTD) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills for acute care patients
• Skilled in documentation and use of hospital charting systems
• Ability to recommend and train on adaptive equipment and functional mobility
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced setting
