Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered physical therapy services across the continuum of care
- Evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and adjust goals based on progress
- Deliver hands-on interventions, therapeutic exercise programs, and patient education to maximize function
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
- Accurately document evaluations, interventions, progress notes, and discharge plans in the medical record
- Participate in competency evaluations and required testing to maintain clinical excellence
- Support department initiatives to improve workflows, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics
Qualifications
- Current and active Physical Therapy license in Michigan (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Comfortable working a full-time 1.0 FTE day schedule with alternating weekends
- Willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as part of onboarding
- Up-to-date immunizations and clear screenings per facility requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB test, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Varicella, drug screen, fit test, etc.)
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred or equivalent clinical education and licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient evaluation, therapeutic exercise prescription, and manual techniques
- Familiarity with creating measurable treatment goals and tracking outcomes
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation best practices
- Ability to educate patients and families in clear, compassionate terms
- Good time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced hospital setting
