Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care for adult patients
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly recognize and escalate arrhythmias and changes in condition
- Float between units as needed to support staffing and patient care demands
- Deliver excellent patient education, discharge planning, and family communication
- Complete required competency exams and skill checklists (Prime Core/Skills/Specialty) in a timely manner
- Maintain compliance with vaccination, TB, and fit-test requirements and complete onboarding screens
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and improve outcomes
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure with ability to verify via Nursys (License verification required)
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS/NRP as required by unit
- Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing strongly preferred
- Comfort and ability to float between units and work weekends
- Must meet compliance items: negative TB, MMR/Varicella vaccination or attestation, fit test, drug screen, background screen
- Ability to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as part of onboarding
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid telemetry monitoring skills and rhythm recognition
- Medical-surgical assessment and intervention skills
- Familiarity with ACLS and BLS protocols
- Ability to adapt quickly when floating to different units
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
- Comfort with competency testing and completing compliance requirements
