Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly identify changes in patient rhythms
- Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care, including medication administration and documentation
- Float between units as needed to support staffing and patient needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute patient-centered care plans
- Perform thorough assessments and escalate changes in condition in a timely manner
- Complete required Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and specialty exams
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Support a safe environment by adhering to infection control and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be verifiable; Nursys listed)
- BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable
- Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing (preferred)
- Willingness and ability to float between units and work weekends
- Completion of required compliance items prior to start and full compliance profile within two weeks of start
- Successful drug screening (minimum 10-panel) and required health screenings/vaccinations
- Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac assessment skills
- Strong medical-surgical clinical judgment and acute care skills
- Medication administration and IV/line management
- Proficient documentation in electronic health records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Familiarity with infection prevention practices and compliance processes
