Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using a thorough nursing process and prioritize care based on clinical need
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate responses to interventions
• Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring and respond rapidly to clinical changes
• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team about patient status and abnormal results
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and promote safe transitions
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at every step of care
• Direct and guide other nursing personnel to maintain high standards of ICU care
• Complete accurate documentation and required competency checklists and exams

Qualifications

• Current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP as required by unit
• Minimum of 1 year of staff RN experience in acute care hospital critical care
• CCRN preferred
• Compliance with required immunizations and screenings (MMR, Varicella, TB, drug screen, background check, etc.)
• Ability to work weekends and be flexible with Per Diem scheduling

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and critical thinking in high-acuity settings
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation using the nursing process
• Experienced with hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting diagnostic data
• Strong patient and family education skills
• Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
• Comfort working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary ICU team
• Familiarity with acute care hospital workflows and critical care protocols
• Competence with unit-specific skills and competency checklists
